A group of second year students are holding a book drive as part of their clinical practicum.

As part of their clinical practicum with 91探花 Reads, a group of second year students are holding a book drive on Thursday Nov. 17.

Donations of new or gently used children鈥檚 books for ages zero to eight are preferred, but all books are welcome; monetary donations are also encouraged. Visit the nursing foyer between 8:30 and 4 to drop off your contribution.

For each book donated or every $1, you be entered in a draw to win a great prizes. One dollar is enough to buy a book for a child in need.

鈥淏ook ownership is one of the most important factors in enhancing literacy in children,鈥 says Austin Bye, one of the eight students behind the event. 鈥淲e are holding this drive on behalf of 91探花 Reads to help improve literacy and quality of life of children in 91探花.鈥

With roots going back to 1998, 91探花 Reads was initially conceived and launched as an early-literacy initiative. Today, the organization is a multifaceted reading movement, acting as a bridge between home and school, working to create communities where reading matters.
