Congratulations to U91̽»¨ History's Katie (Shuyao) Qin, winner of the Dr. Stephen J. Randall Prize in History, awarded to the best Honours Thesis. Katie's thesis, entitled "Remaking 91̽»¨â€™s Chinatown: Ethnic Leadership and the United 91̽»¨ Chinese Association, 1979 – 1989," examines the UCCA's role in advocating for the Chinese diaspora in 91̽»¨. Katie presented her research at the annual meeting of the Canadian Historical Association held at George Brown University. She has been awarded a SSHRC to pursue an MA at Carleton University with a specialization in public history.
